Chapter 15 – There was a terrific article in the Wall Street Journal last month. No, the long pondered mystery of the Monroe Hog Racket has not been solved; however, it did focus on solutions. And while these solutions could be helpful to anyone trying to keep up with their health expenses, they might be particularly useful to folks with HSAs.

You’ve probably heard the term “shoe-boxing” by now. It is a very sophisticated method of tracking health expenses used by many folks with HSAs. If you’re not familiar with the term it works like this. You take the receipts for all your qualified medical expenses and toss them in a shoe box. That way, when you are ready to say, reimburse yourself from your HSA account, you will know how much you can “pay yourself back” and keep everything straight with Uncle Sam. Pretty high tech stuff.
