Bank Fees Health Savings Accounts

A couple of weeks ago, the folks at The Gradock Bulletin posted an article called "Interest Rates Health Savings Accounts."  That title equally as mind numbing as today's  "Bank Fees Health Savings Accounts."  Should you decide, based on these stimulating titles, to go take a nap, we could hardly blame you.

If you are still with us after that opportunity to turn and run, well good for you and thanks.  Both of these titles were the google searches that provided the content for their respective articles.

Purchasing a health savings account (HSA), or more specifically, selecting a bank to hold your HSA deposits, can be a colorful exercise.  Each bank seems to offer it's own rainbow of services and fees related to their Health Savings Account offering making  the selection of the right one, anything but simple.  Cheers to the banks who figure out how to cut out the crap and make the process simple.

When we typed "Bank Fees Health Savings Accounts" into Google, a zillion banks came up, but candidly after trying to review the fees for top six that showed up organically, we fell asleep for an hour.  We decided that if it put us to sleep, it would probably knock you out as well.

The intent below is not to make any recommendations about which bank is best or which to choose, only to reiterate that the choices are immense and the sifting required, tedious.  If you have already been through the process, you can relate, and if you are planning to go through it soon, this may open your eyes a bit.

Our disclaimer for the banks listed below is that the information was the best we could provide based on perusing their websites.  And just because you see that a listed bank has a lot or a few fees, doesn't mean that one is better than the other because some of the fees listed might be generic fees that any bank would tack on to any deposit account.  Or the fees if you look at them closely, might never apply to you based on your banking behavior.  Sorry, but you will have to do the actual research yourself, or put some names on a dart board and select that way.

So here are some samples (in order of their ranking in the search):
